When I created this character back in 1991, I was dealing with depression from the murder of my younger sister 12 years earlier. The years after it happened, I quit high school and got in trouble hanging out in the streets aimlessly. The one thing that always kept me grounded was the love for my comic books. As my life went on and my anger festered, I needed to find a way to "vent" that anger, channel it into something I loved..."Drawing"

One faithful day in the fall of 1991, I was watching a very violent cartoon on MTV's liquid television called AEON FLUX and I thought it was the most interesting 5 minutes I've ever seen on TV. As a fan of "adult-style" comics such as Frank Miller's DareDevil, Wolverine, The Dark Knight James O'Barr's The CROW and David Quinn Tim Vigil's Faust, I wanted to create a character that falls into those same adult themes with a healthy dose of ultra-violence sprinkled throughout....RAZOR was born!
